1. when i was in catholic school, i apparently was a ham. in first grade, since i had my four front teeth out, i pushed to get a solo at the beginning of "all i want for chirstmas is my two front teeth". in second grade, i played the virgin mary in our christmas pageant deal.
2. i recently got very much into hiking, both by myself and with others. there's something very relaxing and rewarding to me about the whole process.
3. i haven't had cable in nearly two years. i'd rather pay for better internet and just watch all my shows on there.
4. i am in love with comedy of all varieties. i am very much a believer of laughter is the best medicine, and it's gotten me through a lot. i have seen a lot of comedians. i am obsessed with the 75-90 cast of saturday night live and could discuss the show for hours probably.
5. i also have a probably unhealthy love for all things 80's. for being six when the decade ended, i know a whole lot of useless information about it, and tend to be able to beat most people at 80's trivia.
6. i love doing karaoke, but get intimidated whenever i go to a new place. once i get comfortable, i can get back into the swing of things, but it takes me a while to get my nerves out.
7. i have a lot of shyness issues until i get to know people. this sometimes comes off as people thinking i'm pretentious or whatnot. i've gotten a lot better about not caring, but i still get that anxiousness from time to time.
8. the above stems from my wanting people i like to like me, too. if i don't like a person for a good reason, i could care less what they think of me. if i feel like i can relate to someone or whatever, it's a little harder for me to just let that person out of my life.
9. i miss creative writing a whole hell of a lot. i wish the program at Carlow didn't go to hell while i was in the middle of it, because it really was something i enjoyed and was just getting to challenging my style. i will take this up again.
10. i am a hopeless romantic in a lot of ways. instead of letting it rule my life, i've been able to balance this a lot more and just enjoy the flow of things.
11. i've had a lot of people screw with my head, but i still believe that something good will come out of every situation, no matter how it ends.
12. i've been living by myself for nearly two years. i think it is one of the best decisions i've ever made. i have become so much more independent and stronger.
13. i used to be afraid to travel by myself, but now i love going on roadtrips by myself.
14. if i could, i would travel around the world, seeing as many sights as i could. someone want to pay for me to do this?
15. i have a hard time leaving a job once i start it. i was at TJ Maxx for 6 years and probably would still be working there if they had kept it to once a month. i've been at my current job for nearly five years.
16. i have a horrible issue with clutter, and i'm trying to work on this a lot.

got one of these amazing things for christmas last year, and i absolutely love it. so nice to be able to make just a cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate quickly and easily and save a hell of a lot of money on it. silly as it sounds, it makes me happy!

went with Kat to see one of her friends, Peekaboo Pointe, and a few others. there is something amazing about burlesque to me, the fact that these women are normal sized (some my size or so even) and there's just a raw sex appeal to it. was a lot of fun!

competed in one at One Ten Lounge in September or October, can't remember exactly. actually won the round for singing "I Touch Myself". sang "Time After Time" and "Alejandro" for the finals but didn't even make the cut...but i tried!

completed this during the summer. very proud of myself, things went ok and all involved survived. success!

1/6/2011 - i think the next tattoo will be my Gilda quote, now just need to get an estimate on it and save up to get it down.

1/6/2011 - two down. took steph to the warhol for her birthday to see the marilyn exhibit, which was pretty amazing. went to the carnegie art and history museums for a friends going away celebration. counting these as one, seeing as they are connected.

treated myself to this on labor day. will definitely do it again sometime!

in august, i went to DC to see Rufus Wainwright with Tish. i've seen him twice before, but this show was amazing. Martha opened and i never quite realized how talented she is. Rufus then did all of his new album, very theatrically, without applause...it was a pretty emotional experience. then he came out and did the classics, including "cigarettes and chocolate milk", one of my favorites. amazing time with an amazing friend!

this goal is completed. i've been working extremely hard and, while my therapy is completed at this point, i think i finally have the tools to get myself to do better when things don't always go as i expect, and to not just jump straight to the negative. i really wish i would've done this much sooner, it could've made so much of a difference but i'm glad i finally went through with my goal and saw someone.

i'll be catching up on this and trying to get back on track...i've got a lot of time, but i've really fallen behind. hopefully i can get most of these things done!
